Speaker -Rupert Hayles Jr.
is the author
of Practical Strategy: Aligning Business
and Information Technology. He currently
serves as Chief Operating Office of a 5,000- member organization
in northern New Jersey, and as professor of Technology
Strategy at Seton Hall University.
Rupert's
distinguished background in both business operations and
Information Technology include serving as Associate Director
of Central Engineering at Merck & Company, where he
provided oversight to its Information Systems Project
Group within Computer Integrated Engineering and Construction.
Formerly, he served as Cytec Industries' Business Technology
Leader, with primary responsibility for all systems development
and IT strategic plans. And earlier, while at The Prudential
Insurance Company of America, Rupert manage its Business
Systems Planning Office and headed its new product development
and emerging technologies group.
A
graduate of the prestigious Wharton School of The University
of Pennsylvania, Rupert has also served as 1st Lieutenant
in the U.S. Air Force where he was trained as a pilot
in T-37 aircraft. Rupert is married to Maryann Hayles
and they make their home in Warren County, NJ.
